SALMON RECOVERY FUNDING BOARD 2012 GRANT CYCLE
Request for Proposals

The Skagit Watershed Council, as lead entity for WRIA’s 3 and 4, is accepting proposals for salmon recovery projects funded through the Washington State Salmon Recovery Funding Board’s (SRFB) 2012 grant cycle. Important steps and dates in our application process are listed in the RFP announcement. The amount of funding available is not known at this time but is anticipated to be $1 million to 1.3 million.
The Watershed Council is soliciting proposals for:
1) The continued development and implementation of the following projects (SRFB project #s):
- Cottonwood Island Slough Restoration (06-2211) (09-1443)
- Davis Slough hydrologic connectivity (10-1795)
- Fir Island Farm Estuary Restoration (09-1444)
- Hansen Creek Reach 5 Acquisition and Restoration (10-1856)
- Illabot Creek Alluvial Fan Restoration (01-1356) (07-1786) (11-1542)
- Lower Day Creek Slough (01-1386)
- Restoration associated with Savage and Mill Creeks off-channel reconnection (09-1450)
Previously funded deliverables must be completed and available in PRISM at the time the Letter of Intent is submitted.

2) Other projects within the Target Areas and priority objectives described in the Skagit Watershed Council’s Year 2010 Strategic Approach.
All proposals must be consistent with the Skagit Chinook Recovery Plan, the Council’s 1998 Habitat Protection and Restoration Strategy, and SRFB eligibility criteria. Sponsors should be familiar with the Council’s Project Evaluation Criteria and Prioritization process. Referenced materials can be downloaded from the links below.
Letters of Intent to submit a proposal are due in electronic format by 5:00 pm on February 22, 2012. Late or incomplete submittals will not be accepted. Submit to council@skagitwatershed.org
A pre-application workshop for sponsors will be held on January 17th 2012 to provide resources to strengthen proposals and partnerships of the projects identified in 1) above, and to provide guidelines for required March 1st project presentations – location and times to be announced.
