Mission
The Fidalgo Fly Fishers is a local non-profit club affiliated with
the national Federation of Fly Fishers and dedicated to promoting
the recreational sport of fly fishing and the conservation of wild
fish stocks and their habitats, particularly for trout, steelhead,
and salmon.
Primary Programs/Projects

Promote the
sport of fly tying and fishing.
- Enhance the
quality of the fishing experience.
- Encourage
a "catch and release" policy for wild salmonid stocks.
- Encourage
compliance with the fishing regulations, particularly for waters
set aside for fly fishing only.
- Protect,
restore, and maintain wild stocks of trout, steelhead, and salmon
to have ecologically sustainable populations.
- Provide stewardship
for improved fish habitat and water quality.
- Provide stewardship
for Pass Lake; ensure compliance with catch and release policy;
monitor and report catch records; and maintain a litter-free public
area.
Reason for
Participating on the Skagit Watershed Council
The Fidalgo Fly Fishers have an active interest in protecting, restoring,
and maintaining wild stocks of trout, steelhead, and salmon in the
Skagit River watershed for the sustainable, mutual benefits of recreational
fly fishing, well-functioning ecological processes, economically
viable communities, and broad public education and enjoyment.
