Mission
To provide long-term research, education, monitoring, and interpretation that enhances public awareness of the value of estuarine systems and the need for healthy watersheds to provide healthy marine environments.

Primary Programs/Projects

  • Manage the lands, tidelands, facilities, and resources of a National Estuarine Research Reserve.
  • Coordinate research and monitoring to address coastal management issues (local, regional, state, and federal).
  • Provide public education programs and interpreting to improve the awareness and understanding of estuaries.

Reason for Participating on the Skagit Watershed Council
Our goals are dependent upon the long-term health of the Skagit River ecosystem. We believe this can be achieved through the collaborative watershed approach of the SWC.
