There will be happenings throughout the month of January to help Illuminate Skagit, culminating with the Virtual Illuminight 2021, live on Facebook, at 6pm on Friday, Jan 29th

Luminary Contest Rules:
- All entries must be received by midnight on Friday, January 22nd.
- Anyone with a mailing address in the contiguous US is eligible to enter an original, home-made luminary (see definition below). Limit of one entry per person. Family members can enter a single collaborative luminary.
- For the purposes of this contest, a luminary is defined as an original, artistically-designed, hand-held (may be attached to a pole or stick) container for a stand-alone light source.
- Staff of Skagit Watershed Council (SWC) and partner organizations, as well as contest judges, or the immediate family there-of, are not eligible to enter. Works commissioned by SWC are also not eligible.
- Categories: Family, Child, Teen, Adult, and Advanced (any design more complicated than our “Simple Star” design)
- Click here to see the prize list. Each category will be awarded one “Community Choice” prize by popular vote through our website, and 1st – 3rd place prize through a panel of judges. Prizes for sustainability and honorable mentions may also be awarded. For the purposes of this contest, sustainability is defined as having reduced environmental impacts. Examples include using compostable materials or materials that were already destined for the landfill.
Winners will be announced at the 2021 Virtual Illuminight Winter Walk event, which will be streamed live on our lluminight 2021 Facebook Page. A recording of the event will be posted on this page for those who are not able to attend.
